The Sticky Web of Entitlement

When Public officials step over the line

While reading the numerous dictionary definitions of entitlement one can find this elucidation on the word: “The RIGHT” to guaranteed benefits under a government program such as Social Security or other forms of compensation.” A quote that can be found on line makes this statement. “The perception of entitlement brought on by even a small amount of power, can cause generally good people to do generally bad things.” Perhaps it is the combination of these two that brought us to this investigative article. The key phrase here is “the right”. Right does not mean feeling entitled or abusing power and position for advantage.

On April 8th, 2011 Jennifer McGee consummated a marriage between herself and Donald Anderson, acting elected DA in Lake County California. The marriage took place in South Lake Tahoe. The events leading up to this marriage and what follows is the crux of this investigative report.

                                             UNDER THE MEDIA RADAR
Lake County Supervisor Gets A Pass?

Combing through the old court records can bring to light some interesting incidents which over the years have passed under the radar of Lake Counties local media and the public as a whole. Some of these cases have simply fallen by the way side, some show the degree of malfeasance that has existed for many years in this county. Many times a public official is found to be a provocative party to these activities and in this case Lake County Supervisor Rob Brown is in the spotlight. Although this story stretches back to 2004 it was being looked at again as it appears the true story may have never been fully vetted and now has a couple of more acts to add to the play.

On January 6th, 2009 Sandra Dee Resh-Jarvis filed a request for an Order to Stop Harassment, Case Number CV406159. This request was denied by Judge Martin, Lake County Supervisor Rob Brown was the listed defendant on this request. The reason for this request and the allegations associated with it are the foundation of this article.

Racism the enigma of our county

Authored by: Stewart Shandon

Enigma: A puzzling or inexplicable condition or experience.

Recently while sitting at an outdoor venue in Lakeport, I had occasion to overhear a rather boisterous individual comment on the crows that were perched on the ledge of a building across the street. “Would you look at them crows” he said. “Their just like niggers waiting to get into trouble ain't they?”

Realizing I have just broken one of the unspoken rules of racism PR. Which is you cannot use the “N” word. I do so to illustrate the enigma of racism. In a CNN live report from the recent Tulsa shootings incident, a CNN reporter quoted the exact words one of the shooters wrote on their Facebook account. Those words included the “N” word. CNN was attacked from all sides. Apparently we are being educated to sugar coat racism and all of its pugnaciousness. Can you ban a word from existence and cure racism? Unfortunately the enigmatic roots of racism reach much deeper into the ground of our societies.

Man, The Evolution Continues

Authored by: Richard Willard

The age of innocence is behind us.  The stars and heavens have been scouted, the body mapped and plotted.  The age of adventure is over.  What then can be man's future evolution?  In practical terms our ears will continue to get smaller due to the increased noise pollution we as humans are subject too.  Baby toes continue to shrink for the lack of practical need.(We don't grip tree limbs anymore).  But what really is our evolutionary future?  The time has come for the evolution of the human species to take on the prodigious effort of spiritual and consciousness expansion.  These grandiose terms are devoid of precise definitions, not only as individuals but in the collective as well.  How indeed can the indefinable be defined?
